A grand home in Windsor required some tender loving care in its landscape design. Seed Landscapes and the client wanted to capture the traditional sense of this home and suburb, Windsor.
Seed Landscapes created a rear yard that opened light into the home and created large, open playing areas for the family’s three children. Major earthworks (with careful planning) were completed to create this lush garden for play and entertaining.
The pool location is, interestingly, at the front of the house, due to building access issues.
Strong traditional elements of sandstone and provincial style planting was selected to maintain the essence of this home. Seed’s challenge was to ensure that these newly opened areas were linked and this was achieved through stair placement and low planting to create a open visuals.
Many levels and utilised space did not stop Paul from Seed Landscapes in creating open, accessible areas for entertaining.
Paul based his design on a Turkish garden with long narrow spaces, and used paving and gravel to mimick thin water channels. He used lush green Australian natives to lend a more Australian feel to the design.
A lit ‘grand entry’ has been created – a space for the ultimate art piece – a piece that the clients are still searching for!
